India is set to kick off its 2027 ICC Men’s ODI World Cup campaign against defending champions Australia. The match is scheduled for October 7 in Cape Town, marking the beginning of India’s journey in the prestigious tournament.
Following their opener, India will face arch-rivals Pakistan on October 10 at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg, a highly anticipated clash that is expected to draw significant attention during the group stage. India is placed in Group A, which includes Australia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Zimbabwe, and a yet-to-be-determined Qualifier A.
The 2027 World Cup is a 14-team tournament hosted jointly by South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia. This collaborative hosting effort is expected to showcase a diverse range of venues and cricketing cultures.
After the high-profile match against Pakistan, India will meet Afghanistan on October 14 in Tshwane. The team will then travel to Bloemfontein to compete against Qualifier A on October 17, before concluding their group stage matches against Zimbabwe on October 24 at Victoria Falls.
