The Indian diplomatic missions in the United Arab Emirates have rolled out a new procedure for handling passport, visa, and attestation services. This updated system allows applicants to schedule their appointments directly via an official online portal, eliminating any booking fees in the process.
With the revised setup, both the Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General of India in Dubai are now managing consular services directly from their respective offices. This initiative aims to streamline the application procedure, enhance operational efficiency, and curb unauthorised service charges that applicants might face.
Officials have emphasized that appointments for these services are to be made solely through the official online portal. They caution applicants against paying any third party, individual, or agency that claims to facilitate appointment bookings or expedited services on behalf of the Indian missions.
The missions have further warned against trusting any organization or representative that purports to be officially authorized to offer these appointment services. Individuals who suspect they have been misled, overcharged, or falsely represented are urged to report such incidents through the official contact channels provided by the Embassy or Consulate.
For travellers and Indian nationals residing in the UAE, it is crucial to rely exclusively on official communications and verified platforms to obtain accurate information regarding consular services, thereby avoiding potential fraud and unnecessary expenses.
