Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked a significant milestone on Wednesday, celebrating 25 years of continuous public service with an address at the ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Sabha’ in New Delhi. Reflecting on his political journey, Modi expressed gratitude to the citizens and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers who have supported him throughout his career. He also reiterated his vision of a developed India by 2047.
Modi’s political career began on October 7, 2001, when he took office as the Chief Minister of Gujarat. Looking back, he acknowledged the trust and support of the people as a major source of strength, admitting he never imagined reaching such a milestone. Modi credited both his supporters and critics for shaping his journey, stating that while supporters encouraged him, critics taught him valuable life lessons and the importance of introspection.
In his address, Modi emphasized his commitment to making India a developed nation by 2047, urging collective efforts towards self-reliance and economic growth. He highlighted India’s ambition to become one of the world’s top three economies, a goal he believes is achievable through the combined efforts of all citizens.
The Prime Minister expressed profound gratitude to the people, describing them as his greatest strength and acknowledging the role of dedicated party workers in his public journey. “For me, people are God,” Modi stated, underscoring the importance of serving humanity and working collaboratively to advance the nation.
Modi also touched upon his continuous desire to learn, recalling his school days in Vadnagar and noting that his eagerness to acquire new knowledge remains a significant aspect of his life. “Even today, I consider myself a student,” he remarked, emphasizing the importance of lifelong learning.
Highlighting India’s growing capabilities in the aviation sector, Modi praised Indian pilot Smit Machchhar’s bravery during an incident involving a flydubai flight. He expressed confidence that the world would eventually witness aircraft manufactured in India, further underscoring the country’s potential for self-reliance and innovation.
Concluding his address, Modi called for sustained collective efforts to achieve the development goals set for India, aiming to build a stronger, more self-reliant nation by 2047.
