Abhijeet Dipke, the founder of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), has taken to social media to voice criticism against Prime Minister Narendra Modi following the release of a video in which Modi celebrates the passage of the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026. In the video, Modi characterizes the bill as a significant advancement toward establishing a more trustworthy examination system in India. He also pledged to take stringent measures against those involved in the illegal trade of leaking exam papers, commonly referred to as the “paper mafia.”
Dipke, however, was quick to respond, using social media as his platform to question the effectiveness of merely implementing harsher laws to address the problem of exam paper leaks, which have been a persistent issue. He also poked fun at the Prime Minister’s appearance in the video, suggesting that the legislative changes alone might not be a comprehensive solution to this recurring problem.
The CJP has consistently argued that the new legislation’s focus is disproportionately on punitive measures rather than on preventing the leaks from occurring in the first place. The party has been advocating for more profound changes within the system, emphasizing the need for structural reforms and enhanced transparency to effectively tackle the issue.
In addition to these reforms, the CJP has highlighted the necessity for changes within the National Testing Agency (NTA), which is responsible for administering various exams across the country. According to the party, without addressing the underlying issues within the NTA and ensuring a more transparent examination process, the problem of exam paper leaks is likely to persist.
