AAP Claims Congress-BJP Alliance Disrupts Economic Stability Through Protest Actions

Date:

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has launched accusations against both the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), claiming they are working together after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi held a protest close to the Prime Minister’s residence concerning the NEET examination controversy. Sanjay Singh, an AAP Member of Parliament, criticized the demonstration, suggesting it was permitted by the government as a tactic to shift focus away from the ongoing student-led protests demanding accountability for the NEET paper leak. Singh argued that this maneuver detracted from the broader public campaign.

Within the Delhi Assembly, Atishi, who serves as the Leader of Opposition, also questioned the government’s handling of protests, highlighting a perceived discrepancy in treatment. She noted that while student protestors and activists faced restrictions and police actions when demonstrating near Parliament, Rahul Gandhi was permitted to protest near the Prime Minister’s residence and received a prompt response from the authorities. This discrepancy has raised questions about the government’s approach to different protests.

The situation escalated when Union Minister Jitendra Singh met Rahul Gandhi at the location of the protest, announcing that the government was ready to address NEET-related concerns in Parliament. Despite this engagement, the protest concluded with the police detaining Rahul Gandhi and several Congress MPs, adding another layer of complexity to the unfolding political drama.

This incident has exposed increasing tensions among opposition parties, as the AAP accuses the Congress of inadvertently aiding the BJP rather than aligning with the more extensive student movement. The allegations of unequal protest treatment have amplified the discord within the opposition, raising questions about the coordination and focus of their collective efforts.
