Dubey’s comments came during a session in the Parliament Monsoon Session, where he underscored the government’s commitment to addressing the paper leak issue. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken a firm stance on the matter, advocating for the harshest penalties for the culprits. Modi has insisted that the 13 individuals arrested in connection with the scandal should be subject to expedited legal proceedings via fast-track courts, making it clear that anyone jeopardizing students’ futures will face severe consequences.
The government has repeatedly expressed its willingness to engage in dialogue with the groups protesting against the paper leak. Union ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh have extended invitations to the demonstrators, offering to meet them at their official residences or offices to discuss their grievances and potential solutions.
Despite these overtures, protesters remain steadfast in their demands for accountability. They have called for the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and have announced plans for nationwide peaceful demonstrations to maintain pressure on the government. Their primary focus is ensuring that those responsible for the leak are held accountable and that the integrity of important examinations like NEET-UG is upheld in the future.
