Lok Sabha Turmoil After Gandhi Criticizes Shah’s Economic Policies

Date:

Tensions flared in the Lok Sabha as Rahul Gandhi, Leader of the Opposition, accused Union Home Minister Amit Shah of authorizing the use of force against students protesting the NEET paper leak. Gandhi asserted that the authorization for using pellets against demonstrators came from the highest levels of the government, a claim that drew immediate and strong objections from members of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

In response to Gandhi’s allegations, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju demanded that concrete evidence be provided to substantiate such serious claims. Rijiju criticized the accusations as unfounded and called for them to be struck from the official parliamentary record. He further urged Gandhi to issue an apology, emphasizing that serious charges should not be made without supporting evidence.

The situation escalated when Gandhi also criticized the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), using language that Speaker Om Birla deemed “unparliamentary.” As a result, those particular remarks were removed from the official proceedings. The incident added another layer of complexity to the already tense political landscape surrounding the controversial NEET paper leak issue.

The exchange highlights the ongoing friction between the opposition and the ruling party, as well as the heightened sensitivities surrounding the NEET paper leak controversy. The uproar in parliament reflects broader political tensions, with accusations and demands for accountability taking center stage amid the contentious issue.
